The All New Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV is all set to launch.
The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is an all-new model based on a new platform and will get new engines as well. It is expected to share the 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine with the Ciaz, and feature a new 1.5-litre diesel engine as well. Both engines are likely to feature Suzuki’s “SHVS” mild-hybrid tech. The 7-seater MPV is bigger than before, has more space (and bootspace) and is also packed with a lot more features. We’re expecting prices to go north, and possibly start around the Rs 7.5 lakh mark.
Interior & Design
The all-new iteration of this compact people carrier promises to be significantly better than the outgoing model. Apart from having an all-new design, interiors and added features, the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is also going to get an all-new petrol engine as well. The diesel derivative will remain the same as before.
Not only this, a lot of elements in Ertiga is transcribed from few other cars, especially the Toyota Innova Crysta, Honda WR-V and the car with the funny name, the Mitsubishi Xpander.
The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will continue to be powered by the same 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder 92PS/130Nm K14B petrol, and the 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged 90PS/200Nm D13A Smart-Hybrid engine. Both will be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, with the petrol getting a 4-speed automatic option.
As far as the engine specifications are concerned, the 2018 Ertiga will retain the current model’s power units. The petrol derivative will get the K-Series 1.4-litre engine. This engine produces 91 BHP along with 130 Nm of peak torque. The diesel derivative is going to come with the Fiat sourced 1.3-litre DDiS oil-burner.
Since, it has both petrol & diesel versions with a mileage of 21 kmpl to 27 kmpl, it is expected to get a better market.
