India to witness renaissance of Nissan Micra in 2018
Among the great automobile companies that were born in Japan, Nissan made some really great cars and trucks from the very beginning of the 19th century. Now in 2018 Nissan will come-up with its new hatchback in India called the Micra and Micra Active. The models are priced between Rs 6.20 lakh and Rs 7.90 lakh (Micra), and between Rs 5.03 lakh and Rs 5.98 lakh (Micra Active), respectively.
Micra has always been one of the best city cars to drive around and would easily go for highway trips without a hiccup. The Micra Active is a low-cost model from Nissan based on the pre-facelift version of the Micra. It is an India-specific model that competes in the entry-level ‘B’ Segment with the likes of Maruti Wagon R, Chevrolet Beat and Hyundai i10.
The Micra Active looks very similar to the pre-facelift and the only noticeable difference is the new wider front bumper. This hatchback is available only with the three-cylinder petrol engine with the ARAI efficiency of 19.49 Km/L. At the Inside also, car carries the pre-facelift circular design philosophy and offers all the features that are standard in this segment. The interiors’ shade is also slightly different with dark grey cladding instead of black/beige combination of previous model.
In terms of safety kit, both models now get dual front airbags as standard across the range (the earlier models had only a driver’s side airbag on lower trims), a driver’s seatbelt warning indicator and a speed warning. With this update, rear parking sensors are also standard across all variants.
The Micra XV and Micra Active XV (the top-spec trims) are now equipped with a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MirrorLink. This infotainment system was earlier offered on the limited-run Micra Fashion Edition that was introduced in September 2017.
The Micra Active has the same dimensions as that of the previous car and hence it is actually a lot bigger than rest of the vehicles in the segment.
Cars and bikes do not have feelings but people do. I try to imagine and reimagine in order to create magic with words. Writing for Mechnotechs feels awesome!
