If we are talking about the compact sedan segment in India, these two car getting confuse to its buyer. Because now a days they are the leading sedan segment within India. The Honda Amaze was launched in May 2018 In the last two months, the car has registered sales at an average of 9,500 units a month, making it the best selling Honda car currently in India.

The Dzire is the entry level sedan from Maruti Suzuki. The brand recall of this vehicle is so strong that Maruti Suzuki decided to drop the “Swift” tag from its successor and give it its own identity – the Dzire. The reason behind the model’s strong sales numbers was the things it did right, albeit the not-so-attractive looks. The all new Dzire 2017 has improved in all senses. Will the new Amaze be able to challenge the Maruti Dzire?

The new Honda Amaze now have a completely restyled exterior design. This compact sedan looks a lot mature and premium than the outgoing model. Up-front it gets a facia which resembles quite a lot to the current generation Honda City. The compact sedan gets a thick chrome bar on the grille while the fog-lamp housing is also surrounded by chrome accents. The side profile of this sedan flaunts simple character lines, making the vehicle look clean and premium. The rear of the 2018 iteration of this vehicle is quite busy. It comes with split tail-lamps and an angular boot-lid with a sporty looking spoiler mounted on top of it. Overall the design of this sedan is quite sharp, angular and more towards the sporty side.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire’s design, on the other hand, is more towards the premium side. It flaunts curvaceous aesthetics which are bound to appeal to Indian buyers. The front gets swept-back headlamps with LED DRL, a big hexagonal grille, and an angular bonnet. Furthermore, it also employs a significant use of chrome, giving the car an up-market feel. The curvaceous design continues on the side profile as well with Baleno resembling panels. Unlike the previous generation models of this car’s 2018 model does not look awkward from the rear. The boot blends perfectly with the sloping roofline. The tail-lamps feature LED lamps while the boot-lid gets a chrome strip cross it’s length.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire 

Inside the cabin, the Dzire sedan gets SmartPlay infotainment system with Navigation and Voice command, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, steering mounted audio & calling controls, engine push start-stop button with smart key, auto headlamp, rear air-conditioning vents, remote keyless entry system, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, Height adjustable driver seat, etc.


Honda Amaze 

On the other hand the Honda Amaze get features like projector headlamps. It gets a 7.0-inch Digipad 2.0 touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It has built-in Mapmyindia navigation with live traffic support, HDMI input and also Wi-Fi connectivity. The Amaze also misses out on rear AC vents but in turn it offers cruise control, which is absent in the Dzire. Additionally the petrol automatic in the Amaze gets paddle shifters too. The Amaze does not have a leather steering or gear knob, neither is the CVT offered in the top variants.

The Honda Amaze 2018 comes with two engine options. The first one is a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol, with 89bhp of power and 115Nm of torque. The other engine is a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel which comes in two states of tune – 98.6bhp and 200Nm for the manual and 79bhp with 160Nm for automatic. Yes, the Amaze comes with a CVT (automatic) on both petrol and diesel.

The Maruti Dzire also gets two engine options. The petrol is a 1.2-litre K-Series engine that has 82bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. The diesel on the other hand gets a 1.3-litre engine producing 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. Both engines come mated to a 5-speed manual and an AMT.

The new Honda Amaze 2018 having lighter wait and it is much safer then the previous version. The weight saving has helped the automaker to achieve better fuel efficiency. While the petrol manual and CVT versions deliver 19.5kmpl and 19kmpl respectively, the diesel manual offers 27.4kmpl and CVT version delivers 23.8kmpl.

We can say that Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the more fuel efficient in comparison to Honda Amaze.While the petrol AGS model returns 22kmpl, the manual version is claimed to return 20kmpl. On the other hand, the diesel AGS and diesel manual versions return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 28.40kmpl.

The Honda Amaze is 3,995mm long, 1,695mm wide and 1,500mm in height .  The wheelbase stands at 2,740mm. The ground clearance is 165mm.

The Dzire is also 3,995mm in length but is wider at 1735mm and taller with 1,515mm of height, The wheelbase is 2450mm, which is lesser than the Amaze.  The ground clearance of 163mm, which is close to the Amaze.

The Amaze has a boot space of 420 litres. This is higher than the earlier Amaze. The Dzire has a boot space of 378 litres only.

The Honda Amaze and the Maruti Suzuki Dzire both car best in their place as well as both are having attractive look and features. In price segment, both are having Similar price range. In the terms of space the Amaze comes first, however when we talk about the sheer performance and total no. of features the Dzire take first place. So both are equally competitive.
