Indian Bike Enthusiasts To Be Fueled More With Chinese Torque
Indian Market is set to have a variety of medium powered bikes ranging from 250-650 CC respectively during mid-time of the year by CFMoto in collaboration with AMW Motorcycles Private Limited, let’s have a look about the overall venture about to serve the Indian Market.
CFMoto is primarily a Chinese Auto Builder specializing in building bikes, multi-terrain vehicles alongside utility vehicles, Powersports engines, gears, parts and accessories. The company is operational since 1989 in addition to its claim to have 98 vehicles and 58 engines completely developed. Its located at Zhejiang Province in China, selling its respective products in the premium markets namely North America, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa in addition to international markets.
The bikes of CFMoto’s have been regarded as class leading when it comes to their quality in the premium products originating from China. In fact, many of us are pretty familiar with this bike manufacturer as CFMoto was in buzz a couple of years ago when KTM announced its collaboration with the company back in October 2017 for the purpose of widening its production. The CFMoto will manufacture 999 CC edition of KTM’s 75-degree V-twin LC8 engine, which will be solely manufactured in China from 2020 onwards to power an all-new range of models bearing the CFMoto brand. Though, the venture is going to observe the manufacture of KTM’s future range of middleweight bikes powered by its 799cc LC8c parallel-twin engine (found on the 790 Duke and 790 Adventure) parallelly.
This is not the first time for CFMoto here in India as auto manufacturer and seller, as a matter of fact, CFMoto did once start its venture in the India Market about two years ago in partnership with Indian auto manufacturer Eider Motors. Further to note that Eider Motors never was fully operational while the chairman of the company was found to be arrested on the charges of cheating with dealers. As a result of CFMoto never really was able to make a practical debut but, is now charged up for the second innings just like another relatable Chinese brand Benelli here in the Indian Market where the competition for the global auto manufacturers is getting stiff every day.
Coming to the AMW Motorcycles Private Limited, its an unlisted private company formed in September 2018 and is located at Bengaluru. The portfolio here in India will consist of 250NK, 400NK, 650NK and the 650MT – of which, the 250NK, 650MT and 400NK have already been spotted testing in India.
The pricing might be very competitive when it comes to CFMoto’s products which can be seen in Australia for example, the CFMoto 650NK is priced at AUD 6,490 (Rs 3.20 lakh), where it’s a direct rival is the Kawasaki Z650, which costs AUD 9,799 (Rs 4.84 lakh). If CFMoto manages to do the same here in India, it may play a vital role as pricing matters a lot in our domestic market. Stay tuned for more updates as the dealership network strategies nearer to the launch phase.
