Mercedes has finally completed the C-Class line up in India with the launch of the 2019 Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe at Rs. 75 lakh, (ex-showroom, India). We always knew it was coming as Mercedes had confirmed the new C43 Coupe for our market last year when the 2018 C-Class was launched. The Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe is a facelifted version that was globally introduced last year and comes to India as a CBU model. The two-door coupe is based on the C-Class platform but gets the Affalterbach treatment in terms of both performance and aesthetics. Set to arrive in a niche segment, here’s what you can expect from the soon-to-be-launched Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe.
Design & Features
In its current avatar, the C43 Coupe gets a new AMG radiator grille with twin silver chrome slats, flanked by redesigned LED headlamps with DRLs on top and large air dams on the bumper. It gets 19-inch AMG alloys for that sporty appeal and the coupe roofline blends seamlessly with the boot to give it a sleek silhouette. At the back, it gets a striking rear diffuser and two round twin tailpipes to match the performance it packs.
The cabin of the Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupe is in-sync with the sporty character of the car. The upholstery is draped in Artico handmade leather or Dinamica microfibre finished in black with contrast dual-stitching on the AMG performance seats along with the upholstery. The layout of the cabin is almost similar to the C-Class in the front while the rear, of course, has confined space and the seats are smaller as well. The three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel too is wrapped in Napa leather and sports touch control buttons. Moreover, it gets a heads-up display, a 10.5-inch centre mounted infotainment display with and wide 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with three display styles- Classic, Sport and Supersport.
Power on the Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe comes from the 3.0-litre V6 engine that has been tuned to churn out 385 bhp. The motor has been updated to make 23 bhp more than the predecessor, while torque has been increased too and now stands at 520 Nm. The engine is paired with the 9G automatic transmission and also gets AMG Performance 4MATIC All-Wheel Drive system that aids in more traction. The car can hit 0-100 kmph in 4.7 seconds while the top speed remains electronically limited to 250 kmph.
The AMG C43 Coupe goes up against the likes of the Audi S5 in India which is priced at Rs 72.4 lakh (ex-showroom). So, what do you think about the new Merc AMG C43 Coupe? Do let us know in the comment section below.
